Controlling and managing hazardous waste and packaging
Waste Stream & Waste Container Management
LabCup offers a centralized waste stream management system, allowing clients to either utilize pre-configured built-in streams or create custom waste streams tailored to their needs. Administrators can define specific rules for each stream, specifying which chemicals are allowed or prohibited for disposal.
In addition, waste containers can be created within the laboratories, and the predefined waste streams can be assigned to them. Users are provided with clear indicators, guiding them to select the correct container (stream) for safe chemical disposal.
The platform also supports the generation of detailed content reports for waste stream containers, ensuring efficient tracking and compliance.

Set the waste codes for the entire host used by your institution. A list of waste codes, including EU codes organized by country and the US waste code list, is provided within the software. You simply need to select the ones that are valid for your host.
Define the waste streams that are used in the laboratories across your campus / site. Container, bin and sink type of waste streams are available.
Waste collection points are special storage locations for collecting waste into waste containers.
Uniquely labeled waste containers can be created and positioned at designated waste collection points. These containers are linked to specific waste streams, which define their associated hazards and intended contents.
For each container, you can download a comprehensive content list. The report also includes an aggregated table of unique compounds, their hazard classification, and concentration levels.
Hazardous Waste Management
LabCups Hazardous Waste Management module allows for efficient planning for and disposal of chemical and biological waste. Designed by Dangerous Goods Safety Advisors (DGSAs) specifically for their requirements, this leads to a far more efficient waste disposal process, reduced hazardous items on site, and to huge cost savings via:
- -Efficient packaging
- -Advance planning
- -Disposal costs allocation and sharing
- -Reducing waste buildup and storage
- -Time saving on administrative tasks
all giving cost savings of up to 90% on waste disposal costs.

Researchers can mark any chemical to request professional disposal, giving disposal staff oversight of disposal requirements across the organisation
Staff dealing with hazardous waste have complete oversight across the organisation of all items requiring disposal, what they are, the hazards contained within, the transport packaging required, and hence can plan for efficient packaging.
Automatic waste categorisation and Drag & Drop interface makes packaging fast and easy!
The centralized management of waste containers designated for disposal can be done either individually or through waste tanks.
Package labelling is automatic according to the ADR. Flexibility is still allowed for custom, mixed package generation and limited quantities. This module has been developed by qualified DGSAs.
Similar type of hazardous waste from different groups can be combined into a single shipment leading to extreme cost savings. Disposal cost is automatically calculated for each group according to the ratio of their waste.
The transport document is automatically generated and all historical records are kept for further data analysis and statistics.
Historical list of centrally disposed packages - including their detailed content - is available.
Items that have been used up in the laboratories or have been disposed on spot without central assistance, can be reported on on the Reports page.
